A State of Trance is coming to Los Angeles for two days in June 2027

Armin van Buuren has announced a first for A State of Trance (ASOT): a two-day festival in the United States, set to take place in Los Angeles in June 2027. For now, the exact venue, artist lineup, and ticket prices have yet to be revealed.

The announcement came on Thursday in an unexpected way. The Dutch DJ surprised a small group of fans in Los Angeles with a pop-up set featuring darker sounds, specially curated for the occasion. It was only after the performance that he revealed the big news.

But ASOT has more in store than just the festival itself. The A State of Trance Hotel experience, which has already accompanied the Rotterdam and London editions, is also coming to LA. Plans include pool parties, special events, and pre-party sessions in the hotel lobby. The idea is to turn the weekend into a fully immersive experience, going well beyond two nights of electronic music.

The announcement comes at a symbolic time, as A State of Trance celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. Launched by Armin van Buuren in 2001 as a weekly radio show, ASOT has grown into a major festival brand, with events in cities including Rotterdam and London. The 2027 edition in Rotterdam has already revealed its first wave of artists.

For the American trance scene, a two-day ASOT festival marks a significant milestone. The brand has never before hosted an event of this scale on US soil. And with additional activities planned at the hotel, DJs could have more opportunities to perform beyond the main stage.
