AlphaTheta’s KUVO partners with International Nightlife Association on royalty reporting
KUVO reports a global recognition rate above 92%, backed by a reference library of more than 200 million tracks.
AlphaTheta’s music recognition platform KUVO has announced a partnership with the International Nightlife Association (INA), a network whose member associations represent more than 15,000 venues, to expand music reporting technology in nightclubs worldwide.
KUVO runs in the background at venues and DJ events. It identifies tracks and generates reports meant to feed more accurate royalty distributions to artists and rights holders. It used to operate as KUVO powered by DJ Monitor. The service now carries the KUVO name after AlphaTheta acquired DJ Monitor’s recognition technology.
AlphaTheta says the consolidated platform has a global recognition rate above 92%, backed by a reference library of more than 200 million tracks. It already runs in more than 160 venue rooms across the UK, Ibiza, the Netherlands and Australia. Named venues include Hï Ibiza, [UNVRS], Pacha Ibiza, Ministry of Sound, Paradiso, The Warehouse Project, Ivy and Carousel.
INA president Joaquim Boadas de Quintana emphasized combining technology and industry cooperation to improve transparency in music usage reporting and royalty distribution. He also pointed out that music recognition technology is already required for venues seeking the International Nightlife Acoustic Quality (INAQ) certification, part of the association’s Triple Excellence in Nightlife distinction. Nygel Hiralall, managing director of AlphaTheta KUVO Technology, described the deal as a step toward making music recognition a standard part of nightclub and DJ event infrastructure.
