AlphaTheta’s HDJ-F9 wireless DJ headphones hit 9 ms latency, $349
The on-ear HDJ-F9 uses SonicLink for latency as low as 9 ms, has touch pairing and a customizable status LED, and costs £329/$349/€379.
AlphaTheta’s new HDJ-F9 on-ear headphones connect wirelessly with latency as low as 9 ms. They run on the company’s SonicLink technology, which lets DJs monitor mixes and scratch with accuracy while moving freely.
SonicLink Touch Pairing handles connections: touch the headphones to a compatible piece of DJ gear and they pair. AlphaTheta pitches the F9 at DJs and producers “who demand high-quality sound and reliability from their headphones but also want the freedom to move around and express themselves without the restrictions of cables”.
Inside are newly developed 40 mm drivers, tuned for full-bodied bass and balanced mids and highs. Sound isolation is designed for loud booths. For long sets, the headphones have swivel-mounted hangers and a flexible silicone headband. The adjustable slider is die-cast aluminum, and the headphones have passed international durability tests.
The Headphones Connect app lets you change the color and brightness of the Status LED and manage settings, and it includes a Find My Headphones feature. Bluetooth multipoint keeps the F9 connected to two devices at once, and it supports Google Fast Pair and Windows Swift Pair. A coiled cable is included for wired monitoring.
