Dreadbox Alecto packs two analog drum voices and two sequencers

Two identical voices, each with two oscillators, a noise generator and dual filters.

Alecto from Dreadbox is a dual-voice analog percussion synth with two independent trigger sequencers. It runs as a desktop box or inside a Eurorack system, and it’s built for drums, basses and sustained textures. The unit ships with a 42 HP desktop case and a ribbon cable for Eurorack installation.

Both voices are identical. Each has frequency modulation and a balance control for the noise source, plus two envelope generators. Controls cover pitch, timbre, attack, decay and pitch-envelope bend. Click and Attack switches shape the transient, and a Drone switch disables the VCA envelope for sustained sounds.

The two trigger sequencers have adjustable pattern lengths and clock division, so the voices can run polymetric rhythms. The shared tempo control is listed at 30 to 7,680 BPM.

A 21-point patchbay handles trigger, velocity, tune, timbre and morph control, plus bend outputs for each voice. A wide-range LFO supplies square and triangle waves, each voice has its own output next to a master out, and clock, start and reset connections cover sync with external gear.

Dreadbox lists Alecto at €250 as a DIY kit and €315 assembled, both excluding VAT. Both versions are available directly from the company.
