OP-XY firmware 1.2.0 adds drumline synth, dynamic filter, USB-C audio
The new dynamic filter pairs high-pass and low-pass filters with compression and drive. The update debuts at Teenage Engineering’s new store in New York City.
Firmware 1.2.0 for the Teenage Engineering OP-XY adds the drumline drum synth, a dynamic filter, detune and multichannel audio over USB-C, CDM reported.
Drumline has multiple models, covering “kicks, snares, and hi-hats to congas, shakers, and claps”, along with parameters and sub-parameters.
The dynamic filter combines a high-pass and a low-pass filter with compression and drive. Teenage Engineering pitches it two ways. On drumline, it shapes transients, adds punch and makes heavier drum sounds. On other sound engines, it adds depth and character.
The update debuts at the company’s new retail outlet in New York City. A stream called Midnight Operations, hosted by product owner Jonas, is scheduled for 4 PM Eastern.
