Amnesia Ibiza closes its 50th season with a 19-hour party
A car-park stage, three indoor rooms and a Capriati and Baker finale marked the club’s anniversary closing.
Amnesia Ibiza closed its 50th-anniversary season on Saturday, October 10, with a party that started at 5 PM and ran until midday Sunday, Electronic Groove reported. The club opened in 1976. For the closing it turned its car park into a new outdoor stage, the Anniversary Area, and opened it first.
Resident Luca Donzelli started things off, followed by Kolter b2b Traumer and Alisha b2b Julian Fijma. Joseph Capriati played a sunset set, and Spanish pop-dance group Locomía turned up unannounced. Groove Armada and Max Dean ended the outdoor program at 11 PM with a rare back-to-back that included reworks of “Rapture,” “Lovelee Dae” and “World a Reggae.”
The crowd then moved inside, where the Main Room, El Taller and The Terrace ran in parallel. The Main Room went industrial. Resident Katnada opened, Nina Kraviz and Deborah De Luca played consecutive sets, and Future666 pushed toward harder sounds. Klangkuenstler followed in what was billed as his only announced Ibiza appearance of 2026, with strobes, heavy smoke and relentless kicks.
El Taller, a smaller room introduced for the closing party, was devoted to the club’s history. Residents Jason Bye, Franco Moiraghi and Les Schmitz played classic house and trance from the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s. Schmitz also selected the tracks for Amnesia’s official 50th-anniversary vinyl compilation.
The Terrace stayed on house through the night. Amnesia musical director Mar-T played b2b with Caal, and nostalgic visuals on the LED screens paid tribute to the club’s 50 years. By morning, daylight was coming through the glass roof, and Saoirse b2b Enzo Siragusa took the sunrise slot, playing an edit of “Night of the Jaguar.”
At 9 AM the party had been running for 16 hours. Capriati and Josh Baker reunited on the Terrace for the official closing set of the season, playing until midday. Their selections included “I Want Your Soul,” “Benediction” and Martin Buttrich’s “I’m Going There One Day.” In the final hour, Pepe Roselló, founder of Space Ibiza, came on stage unannounced to congratulate the Amnesia team on the anniversary.
The last record was Eurythmics’ 1983 hit “Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This).”
