Warsaw Wave releases Revolt, a patchable software synth with a free tier

Revolt lets users build the signal path from slots on a single page. The $59 introductory price ends November 11, and a free version stays available.

Warsaw Wave has released Revolt Patchable Synth, a software synth with no fixed architecture. You build the signal path yourself from oscillator, filter, modulator and effect slots, all on a single-page interface.

Slot typeCount
Oscillators4
Modulation8
Multimode filters2
Effects4

Oscillators can be analog-style, wavetable or noise, with FM, feedback and hard sync. The two filters run in series or parallel. Modulation slots take envelopes, LFOs or Noise LFOs, and the modulation matrix gives control over depth, polarity and response curves. Effects can be reordered and cover reverb, delay, chorus, flanger, distortion and bitcrushing.

There are four assignable macros and MIDI learn, plus support for velocity, aftertouch, mod wheel and MPE. Playing modes include mono, poly, unison, glide and an arpeggiator. A randomizer lets you choose which parameters can change, exclude others and set the strength, so a patch can be varied without losing its core. Color schemes and panel styles are saved per plugin instance.

Revolt runs on Windows 10 or later (VST3, standalone), macOS 12 or later (Audio Units, VST3, standalone) and Linux (VST3, LV2, standalone). The Linux build is experimental with limited support.

The introductory price is $59, down from the regular $89, until November 11, 2026. A free version stays available permanently. It has two oscillator slots instead of four, four modulators instead of eight, one filter instead of two and two effects instead of four, along with reduced macro and arpeggiator functions. A full-featured seven-day trial is also offered.
