Roland takes TR-1000, KMS listening session and BEAT GEMS to ADE 2026

Between October 21 and 25, Roland is at Nxt Museum, De Thomas church, Rush Hour and ADE Lab with live sets, a Kevin Saunderson listening session and a drum machine book presentation.

Kevin Saunderson will lead a listening session dedicated to KMS Records at Rush Hour on October 25, part of a run of Roland activities around Amsterdam Dance Event, Electronic Groove reported. ADE runs October 21-25, 2026. Saunderson’s Brunch Boogie goes from noon to 2 PM and ties his catalogue to the history of Roland instruments in Detroit electronic music. The TR-1000 is part of the presentation too.

On October 22, Roland opens the EarthSonic program at Nxt Museum with an Electronic Synthesizers Petting Zoo using field recordings collected through the global project developed by In Place of War. Natural Symphony then play live on a Roland TR-1000 and JUPITER-08, followed by an audiovisual set from Paranoid London. Orbital, Coldcut, Quinn Whalley, Ben Sheppee, Joey Dean and Bobolian are also on the bill.

From October 23 to 25, Roland joins ZERØBPM’s 39.5-hour program at De Thomas church. Roland’s contribution is Silence Through Sound, centered on deep listening, experimental music and meditation. Visitors pass through three N/VISION stations, Listen, Touch and Create, before reaching a studio of electronic instruments, where Nadia Struiwigh performs live on October 25.

At ADE Lab, October 21-23, Roland joins Bjooks for the public presentation of BEAT GEMS: Drum Machines in Modern Music. Oli Freke wrote the 336-page book, Jeff Mills contributed the foreword, and a Roland TR-909 is on the cover. Bjooks founder Kim Bjørn will be at the exhibition all three days. Freke gives a talk, “How Drum Machines Changed Modern Music,” on October 21 at 2:30 PM.
